Wow, this is my 60th post

I'm pretty sure the NaNoWriMo idea I've been talking about for the past three days is the NaNoWriMo idea I'm going with now. So let's talk about more of our intrepid hero's friends!


This chick is pretentious and thinks she's totally cool and not mainstream at all. She probably listens to a bunch of indie bands you've never heard of and watches independent movies and reads weird and experimental books. What she doesn't realize is that this makes her like every teen trying to be cool and independent, thus making her totally mainstream. She's pretty nice if you can get her to put down her pretension shield.

She'll never admit to it, but she reads--and enjoys--the Twilight books.

Our hero half-befriends her, too.

I think I'm losing my ability to draw girls.

More New Characters

Another oddity our hero from two posts ago meets.


He doesn't talk much, just glares at people and makes snarky comments at the worst possible moment. Just be careful what you say near him--even if it doesn't look like it, he's always listening. Always.

Our hero fully befriends him due to some strange twist of fate.

Quickie

Two more characters from the story I spoke of yesterday.


They're deeply in High School Love, but they're both a little... odd, and we'll leave it at that for now. Our hero runs into and half befriends them both at the beginning of the story.

Another Quick Design

Sorry these have been coming so late recently; my sleeping schedule's been thrown off. We should be back to regular business sometime in the near future.


The hero of one of three different stories I'm throwing around in my head right now as contenders for my NaNoWriMo novel '09. He's a nice kid, if a little spacey. He has really bad luck and his family moves a lot, usually as a result of this luck. At the beginning of the story, his family just moved and he's hoping to make everything right this time--but since I can't write a story without some fantastic element, you know things are about to go really wrong.

Design

I was feeling pretty stressed tonight, so I turned to my usual stress relief method: watch something I like and draw a random picture.


He's no one in particular and rather androgynous for my current style, but I like him regardless.

Today, I played around with the Spore creature creator.

A redesign

All right, Maxwell. I've never posted his design here, have I? Here it is.


Now, his design is supposed to be steampunk-- intro to said genre can be found here. Okay, now, I felt like I was cheating the genre by giving him a denim jacket and a knit shirt, so I changed things up a little.


Sure, I'm sure they didn't have denim jeans in the Victorian period, but this is much closer to how I wanted him to look. Ignore the hair, though. That's not how I want his bangs to look... oh well, it's close enough?
