Insects and Gastropods, Oh My!

I had a really random idea for a story, and I sketched out some character ideas.



Basically, it would be a pulpy detective story with bugs. Dunno if I'm actually going to do anything with it yet, though.

    Wait...the mantis is having sex? I didn't get that from the picture. Is this going to be a slash pairing between the two?

    No, no, no. My reference for drawing the mantis was a picture of two mantids having sex. None of these insects are romantically involved in any way.
