Of Blur, that is.
Once again, shown clockwise from the northern wall.
Yes the northernmost wall is completely blank. I learned my mistake with room #1: if you put in too much detail, people will inspect everything and never try to advance the plot.

More Blurstuffs
I intend for Blur to be a supernatural story with some horror over/undertones. The great thing about writing a supernatural story that actually has a plot behind it is that I can reuse all my supernatural-type characters who have been in stories with no plot behind them.
For example, consider Alistair!
For those of you who don't know or don't remember him, he was a character of NaNoWriMo '09. In the end, he ended up being a kind of interesting, if cliche concept (A kind of immature Obi-Wan for a whole bunch of clueless high school kids who had a run-in with the supernatural) that went terribly, terribly wrong and misused.
In Blur, he is planned to be a kind of spirit guide for the people who find themselves trapped in... the setting. His personality and character is further fleshed out and he doesn't appear and disappear as a deus ex machina--he's there for the long run.
So I decided to give him a bit of a redesign to fit with the plot better. Don't look at the bottom drawing too long or the anatomy flaws will kill you like a knife to the eye.

*Dramatic music*
Muffin encounters his nemesis, which is apparently an angel statue.
Well, it's angel statues in general, but this is the first one he's encountered.
GEE I WONDER WHERE I COULD HAVE POSSIBLY DERIVED THIS FEAR.

Backpack Get!
I'm finally getting good at drawing Muffin.
Today, he realized he was going to need something to create a kind of inventory for an adventure game. Fortunately there was a backpack in the room he awoke in. So that's basically what I drew today.
I plan on doing a really polished picture of him soon, so stay tuned for that.

A Dingy-Looking Room
For the adventure game I'm running, I've mapped out the room where the protagonist first finds himself.
Clockwise view of the room from the northern wall:
It's really hard to come up with interactive objects whose purpose isn't totally obvious and balance those with actual important objects. This is my first attempt and it's far from perfect, but I hope for the time being it is passable.
As I map more of the story in the upcoming days, you can see the results here first.

A Mild-Mannered Nerdy-Looking Fellow
I got an idea for a "Choose Your Own Adventure" forum game and quickly created some guy to be the protagonist. Time will tell if he actually acts anything like he looks.
On the left is his original coloration; when I started creating his environment, however, it turned out to be dark and desaturated. So I changed his colors to fit in better with his world.

Boom, Headshot
I only really doodled headshots today and yesterday, so that's what you get!
First up is Mal, a minor character in NMC and an alien from Planet Tim Burton. Or something like that.
Then some random guy I drew as practice for profiles. I think I'm finally getting the hang of this view.
What Sluggy Slade would look like as a human character. Reader Ikey may remember I said I pictured him looking like Bruce Wayne from Batman: The Animated Series. I wasn't joking.
And then... a possible new character for a whole new story thread. Taking some stage directions from Stanley Kubrick.

Mecha Project
So I decided to improve my machinery-drawing skills I want to try and draw one Star Wars machine every day. I will draw other stuff but expect at least one Star Wars Mech a day for a while.
According to Wookieepedia, this is an "AT-AR." It never appeared in the movies, so I don't really know what it is.

Penguuuuuin
Penguin Enterprises is a company based in Nightmare City that specializes in evil science. They really need developed, but at least I have a logo for them.
I'm sorry I haven't been giving you a ton on the blog lately; I'm going through something of an art block. A WIP Royal Flush spade to make up for it?

As You Know, Bob
a.k.a. The Exposition Post!
A few days ago someone told me that they like my blog but they have no idea what I'm talking about most of the time. So it's time I give a nice in-depth discussion of Nightmare City.
I often call Nightmare City NMC, by the way. So when I say "NMC," I am talking about this.
Nightmare City is a 100% fictitious city located in Vermont. In this world technology surged forward very quickly and by 2015 Nightmare City is a retrofuturistic world. The problem with the city, though, is that it grew faster than its law enforcement. As such the place has become a haven for crime.
In the year... let me check my timeline file... 2008, a few superhumans decided that they were going to stand up and fight crime. They formed the Alliance for Superhuman Law Enforcement. Only later did they realize that their organization's acronym was A.S.L.E, and that everyone pronounced that "asshole." Such is life.
A.S.L.E. grew to have six members and one high-functioning robot to help people out, but their initiative corroded over time. Eventually they would only fight crime that directly effected them and the city was left in the exact shape it started in.
Lily Adams was an ordinary girl who always wanted to be a superhero. Unfortunately her one exposure to radioactive material turned her hair pink, which really isn't a useful power. So she moved to Nightmare City and studied Mad Science. Her research into "ways to get superpowers" proved futile every time. It wasn't until crime effected her life directly that she realized that she didn't need superpowers to fight crime. She could be Batman.
To help her on her way to vigilantism was Aleksei Chekhov, a kid who was very, very Russian. He also had a knack for finding unusual weapons for his legitimate business, and even turned out to posess some superpowers. He became Lily's sidekick, taking the name "The Red Menace."
As Lily continued fighting crime, she became ultra-aware of her surroundings and was constantly looking for possible supervillains. One suspicious fellow was her professor, Dr. Harold Monroe. As time went on, she learned more and more about the man, and after lots of dramatic storylines, he came to join Lily in her adventures as "The Professor."
The three fought together for some time but soon they realized they had difficulty taking the initiative and seeking supervillains. They needed a detective. They found one in the form of Anna Langsley, a serious and reserved woman who was a solitary vigilante by night. It took a long time, but eventually they got her--"Mysterie"--to join them.
And together, they fight crime!
